Kuurojen Huoltokotisäätiön hallitus käynnisti 1.9.1988 ns. Lappi-projektin, jonka tarkoituksena oli selvittää monivammaisten kuurosokeiden määrää ja heidän erityispalveluidensa tarve Oulun, Lapin, Länsi-Pohjan, Kainuun ja Kokkolan keskussairaalapiirien alueella. Projektiin varattiin aikaa 5 - 6 kuukautta, ja sitä työstämään palkattiin erillinen projektisihteeri, päiväkodin jóhtaja Raija Meiläinen. Projektia johtamaan perustettiin johtoryhmä, jonka puheenjohtajana toimi dosentti Martti Sorri Oulusta ja jäseninä - toiminnanjohtaja Hilkka Nousiainen, Kuurojen Huoltokotisäätiöstä - johtava kuntoutussihteeri Ari Pokkinen, Kuurojen Liitosta - johtaja Marja-Leena Saarinen, Suomen Kuurosokeat ry:stä - johtaja Pertti Taimisto, Kuurojen Huoltokotisäätiöstä. Yhtenä tutkimuksen konkreettisena tavoitteena oli selvittää kartoituksen pohjalta Ouluun mahdollisesti perustettavan uuden asumisyksikön tarve. Kartoituksen tässä vaiheessa ei katsottu aiheelliseksi tarkastella tämän asumisyksikön tilasuunnitelmia, sisältöä ja toimintaa. |
